What my future husband will look like...
Okay, so maybe that's not the best title. I'm not talking looks. Of course, he will be handsome. I'm talking about perception. How his presence in my life will look to me. I decided to make a list of the qualities I absolutely MUST have in my partner. Of course this list is not all inclusive. I'm sure I've left something off that I'll think of later. But here's what I came up with.
1. Honesty- in all things. This includes "lying by omission." Be open and honest about all aspects of life and work. Doing the right thing when no one is watching.
2. Responsibility- Act like an adult. Make good decisions. Take responsibility for your mistakes. Take care of things that need to be done in a timely manner without having to be told, reminded, supervised, or praised.
3. Motivation- Get up and take charge. Take the initiative. Don't waste your life sleeping and watching TV.
4. Respect- Listening to my opinions and feelings and taking them into consideration before acting. Treating me like a lady. Taking care of my property as well as, if not better than, your own. Consulting with me before making plans. Not talking about me behind my back.
5. Maturity- Having the ability to control your emotions and take full responsibility for your actions. Being able to handle situations and people (children!) appropriately regardless of anger, disappointment, resentment, fear, etc.
6. Compassion/empathy- Caring about the feelings of others, especially our family and friends. Being able to help others whether or not there is anything to gain from it.
7. Compatibility- Being a good partner. Getting along. Enjoying the same things. Understanding each other. Laughing together. Playing together. Wanting to spend time together, either alone or with other people.
So, what do you think of my list? Any to add? What do you look for in a partner?

Yoga pants-why are they folded?
Like all the other "basic" white females, I was rocking my yoga pants today and I got to wondering why they always have that folded waistband. What is the purpose? I'm constantly readjusting it when it rides up my torso. So I did a google search and came across this wiki page about yoga pants. Interesting stuff. Here's a little snippet for ya:
~~The boot cut and flared remains the most popular type of yoga pants that is generally used for casual wear, lounge wear, maternity wear, physical activities, or club wear used for gender-exclusive social activities and girls evening night outings where women meet to engage in social activities at restaurants, nightclubs, bars, and house parties where the pants worn out and about are used as clubwear, often used for aesthetic purposes of showing off curvaceousness, or for more physical social nightclub dancing activities such as grinding, twerking, or lap dancing, due to the high flexibility, stretch, comfort, fashion and softness that yoga pants offer when such provocative dances are performed.[4]~~
Yes, folks.....that's ONE sentence. Albeit, not a very informative one.
Oh and I still don't get the fold over waistband.

My New Hobby
I've been playing around with my fancy nancy sewing machine, trying to get the hang of it. I've begun to see the potential and have branched out from stock embroidery to appliqué. Wow. So much fun. Check out a few of the shirts I've done just in a couple of weeks.

Diet friendly 69 calorie cocktail
So I recently went to a Mexican restaurant with my boyfriend and indulged in a beautiful, delicious, calorie-laden watermelon margarita. Boy, was it good!
I have no idea how many calories were in it and it's probably better if I don't find out considering my dinner was probably a bit indulgent as well.
So I have since been looking for ideas to recreate this wonderful drink and make it a lot more diet friendly. My brain merged a few different ideas and this is what I came up with.
A shot of Jose, a sprinkle of watermelon kool-aid, then fill the glass with sprite zero. The verdict: it does not taste like the watermelon margarita from the restaurant, but is very good. My bf says it tastes like a jolly rancher. I wouldn't know about that, I haven't had a jolly rancher in probably 20 years since I broke my tooth on one when I was a kid.
Anyway, this drink is delicious and only 69 calories in the tequila. All other ingredients are zero calorie. Yay!
Enjoy!

Low calorie food heaven
So, this is just a quick post because I just threw together a snack and it is soooo good I had to share.
Black cherry Greek yogurt, 2 tsp PB2, and 1tsp cocoa powder. Approximately 117 calories but tastes so amazing you'll think you're cheating.
You're welcome

Strawberry banana muffins
I had a few bananas that had gotten very very ripe so I wanted to use them up. But since I was out of eggs, applesauce, and flour, I had to get creative. The end result: Low calorie strawberry banana muffins.
I was able to make 9 muffins with the batter bringing the calorie count to 107 each. Very tasty too!
